The Community Foundation of Randolph County has canceled its 10th annual Women’s Fund brunch and auction for Saturday, September 26. Grant awards and art awards will be announced via a Facebook Live event on Thursday, October 8th at 6:30 p.m. The auction will also begin on October 8th but it will be an online auction via Tarter Realty, Auction, & Appraisal Company.
Anyone that has already purchased brunch tickets may contact the Community Foundation of Randolph County for a refund. Otherwise, it will be considered a tax-deductible donation to the Women’s Fund. Businesses or artists wishing to donate items for the auction may deliver items to the Community Foundation between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until September 9.
Donated art will be judged prior to the auction and the winning artist will receive a $300 prize courtesy of Old National Bank. Four $50 Honorable Mention prizes will also be awarded. The theme of this year’s event is Reflections on 10 Years of Giving. However, artists are not required to incorporate the theme into their artwork. Mediums of all types will be accepted but should be a size and weight that will allow one person to carry it (50 lbs). Pieces should be stable when on a flat surface or be able to be hung on a wall.
“Last year’s art auction was a huge success and we are excited to be doing it again this year,” stated Women’s Fund Co-Chair Stephanie Ward. “The format will be different but proceeds still benefit the Women’s Fund for projects that empower the women and children of Randolph County, “ Ward added.

The Women’s Fund is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Randolph County. It was opened in 2011 by the late Rev. Cherie Isakson to create better futures for the women and children of Randolph County. Since its inception, the fund has granted more than $20,000 to Randolph County non-profit organizations. Past grant recipients include the Girl Scouts, Pregnancy Care Center, and YMCA Girls on the Run, to name a few.
In addition, enough money has been saved to open an endowment fund, which has a balance of more than $23,000. Anyone may become a member of the Women’s Fund by making a yearly donation of $50. All members are welcome to serve on the committee that selects grant recipients and plans the brunch.
